How much does a consultation cost?
Consultations are free! And we don’t charge for design time and stencil preparation either!!
How old do you have to be to get a tattoo?
You must be a least 18 years of age. Don’t be offended if we ask for official photographic ID, the laws on tattooing are quite strict, and tattooing a person who is under 18 is treated as assault on a minor. Having your parents’ consent does not change the fact that you must be 18 to get tattooed.
How much do you charge?
Rates vary depending on the artist and also the size and detail of the tattoo in question.
How can I get a quote?
It’s best to book a consultation with the artist of your choice so you can discuss and agree on all the details, including time and cost estimates.
Do you do piercings?
No, we just specialise in tattoos here!
How long is your waiting list?
Each artist’s waiting list varies, so we can let you know once you contact the studio. Generally, smaller pieces can be booked within a short space of time, where as larger pieces like sleeves, etc could have up to a six month wait.
When can I see my design?
Usually the artist will start to finalise your design a few days before your appointment. However each artist works differently. You will be informed during the consultation as to when your design will be sent out. This will allow for plenty of time to check your design and make any amendments before you get tattooed.
Cancellation policy
We operate a strict 48 hour cancellation policy. If cancelled after this time frame you will loose your deposit. Only in extreme case will this be different.
All refunds will be subject to a £10 admin charge.
Appointments can only be moved a maximum of two times before losing your deposit.
Do you do cover-ups?
It depends on what you’d like to have covered. In most cases, your artist will recommend some laser treatment on the existing tattoo to fade it down sufficiently so it can be covered properly. However, everybody is different, so it’s best to book a consultation and discuss all your options!
Can I have a few drinks to help me deal with the pain?
We do not tolerate drink or recreational drugs in our studio. Alcohol and many painkillers thin the blood, meaning that you bleed easier, which can result in a loss of ink. So you may find the tattoo takes longer, and may not heal as well as it should.
If you are suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol Monumental and any of its artist's reserve the right to refuse to tattoo you and your deposit will be kept. Don't risk it !
Can I Bring My Child Along To My Appointment?
We operate a strict Over 18’s Only policy here at Monumental Ink, and cannot allow children in the studio. A tattoo studio is an adult environment and we would appreciate your cooperation.
Can I be tattoed whilst pregnant or breastfeeding ?
Unfortunatly you can't be tattooed whilst you are pregnant or breastfeeding. This is due to the body absorbing a certain amount of the ink which could potentially be passed on to the child.

I had a tattoo done Thursday 27th of July with Robert. The studio is very clean and welcoming. I was there for a day session and was offered tea and coffee throughout the whole day by the lovely ladies on the front desk. This is the best tattoo studio I have been too and will 100% be going back to finish off my sleeve and get other tattoos in the future. I really recommend this place.
