Frequently Asked Questions

  • q-iconWhen are you open?

Tuesday to Saturday 10.00-18.00, Thursday 10.00-20.00

  • q-iconHow much does a consultation cost?

Consultations are free! And we don’t charge for design time and stencil preparation either!!

  • q-iconHow old do you have to be to get a tattoo?

You must be a least 18 years of age. Don’t be offended if we ask for official photographic ID, the laws on tattooing are quite strict, and tattooing a person who is under 18 is treated as assault on a minor. Having your parents’ consent does not change the fact that you must be 18 to get tattooed.

  • q-iconHow much do you charge?

Rates vary depending on the artist and also the size and detail of the tattoo in question.

  • q-iconHow can I get a quote?

It’s best to book a consultation with the artist of your choice so you can discuss and agree on all the details, including time and cost estimates.

  • q-iconDo you do piercings?

No, we just specialise in tattoos here!

  • q-iconHow long is your waiting list?

Each artist’s waiting list varies, so we can let you know once you contact the studio. Generally, smaller pieces can be booked within a short space of time, whereas larger pieces like sleeves, etc could have up to a six month wait.

  • q-iconWhen can I see my design?

Usually the artist will start to finalise your design a few days before your appointment. It is possible to check your design and make any amendments before you get tattooed.

  • q-iconDo you do cover-ups?

It depends on what you’d like to have covered. In most cases, your artist will recommend some laser treatment on the existing tattoo to fade it down sufficiently so it can be covered properly. However, everybody is different, so it’s best to book a consultation and discuss all your options!

  • q-iconCan I have a few drinks to help me deal with the pain?

We do not tolerate drink or recreational drugs in our studio. Alcohol and many painkillers thin the blood, meaning that you bleed easier, which can result in a loss of ink.

So you may find the tattoo takes longer, and may not heal as well as it should.

  • q-iconCan I Bring My Child Along To My Appointment?

We operate a strict Over 18’s Only policy here at Monumental Ink, and cannot allow children in the studio. A tattoo studio is an adult environment and we would appreciate your cooperation.

Customer Testimonials

Fantastic service, friendly and professional. Having been turned away by another place saying my ideas were too busy too big etc without even bothering to look properly, Monumental Ink were more than happy to discuss ideas and point me in the right direction to make my tattoos look perfect, nothing was too much trouble. I can't wait to be booked in now. Highly recommend, so glad I came across this page through friends.

Ceri Mahon

Fantastic studio, added bonus you can bring friends and eat n drink while you have it done. Not that it was needed as Steve Toth is great to talk to and made me feel totally confident and comfortable. I recommend monumental ink to all my friends and family wanting a comfortable tattoo experience.
